This offseason, the New York Mets hope to make changes that will help them qualify for the postseason once again.

The bullpen is one area where the Mets hope to make improvements.

Now that Edwin Diaz is back from an ACL tear, the Mets bullpen ought to be much better.

To go with Diaz, the Mets recently inked a one-year contract with a former All-Star.

Shea Station reports that Jorge Lopez has signed with the Mets.

Lopez had a rough season last year, pitching 59.0 innings with an ERA of 5.95.

Lopez recorded 23 saves in the 2022 season, demonstrating his experience as a closer.

However, the Mets’ bullpen still needs a great deal more assistance.

Last season, they had the NL’s fourth-worst bullpen ERA.

Their 4.45 ERA will improve with Diaz back, but they should prioritize finding a good setup man.

Losing does not sit well with the New York media or the Mets supporters.

It’s time for this team to demonstrate that they can contend in the postseason once more.

In recent years, the Mets have not been afraid to spend big money.

They traded for Francisco Lindor a few years ago, and they added Kodai Senga to the roster last season.

The only thing left for the Mets to do is spend their money.

David Stearns was hired by the organization to serve as their president of baseball operations.

He built playoff teams in Milwaukee for many years.

He is now expected to perform in the same capacity as a Met.

Watch the Mets closely as they attempt to make some big offseason acquisitions.
