The Dallas Cowboys, led by head coach Mike McCarthy, are on track to win at least ten games during the regular season for the third consecutive year.

With a victory over the NFC East rival, the Cowboys can secure their third consecutive season with at least 10 wins under McCarthy heading into a pivotal Week 14 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

McCarthy had emergency surgery earlier this week to treat acute appendicitis, but the Dallas head coach assured everyone on Friday that he would be fine for Sunday’s divisional matchup (via Michael Gehlken on Twitter).

The Cowboys have been able to win six of their last seven games, and their lone defeat came at the hands of the team they will play on Sunday.

Therefore, when Dallas plays the Eagles this weekend for the second time this season, they will undoubtedly be thinking about getting even.

The Cowboys now have a better chance to win the NFC East this season and secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoff bracket during their final five games, thanks to Philadelphia’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Nevertheless, the Cowboys must defeat Philadelphia on Sunday in order to achieve any of these goals.
