The Week 10 bye allowed the Los Angeles Rams to recuperate and reenergize before they returned to action this week.

In Week 11, the Rams will host the Seattle Seahawks in an attempt to snap their three-game losing streak. When fans last saw Los Angeles, they were playing the Green Bay Packers on the road, and they didn’t play well.

While Matthew Stafford is expected to make a comeback, Sean McVay stated that Brett Rypien was the starting quarterback against the Packers. Despite having a UCL sprain in his thumb, Stafford appears to have benefited from the additional rest.

Given that Stafford is renowned for playing through injuries, his absence from Week 9 was somewhat unexpected. But eventually, those injuries catch up with you, and Stafford is no longer a spring chicken—he is 35 years old. Stafford recently stated that he intends to keep playing, despite speculations that he may be retiring soon, via The Pat McAfee Show:

“I don’t think I’ll leave until everything breaks. As we speak, there is a slight wobble in them. I enjoy competing in this game and playing it. I adore being in the changing area. I take advantage of as many opportunities as I can because I will never get that again. It’s been amazing, and I adore the city and this team. had a great deal of success in our inaugural year and are attempting to repeat that this year, next year, or whenever it occurs. I play too much because I enjoy it so much.”

Stafford may have retired this past offseason after missing the end of the 2022 season due to a spinal contusion, according to a lot of rumors. But he recovered during the offseason, and for the first time since moving to Los Angeles, he was healthy for training camp.

Stafford’s contract expires in 2026, and he will be 38 years old by then, so it’s possible he will play out the remaining years before retiring. While it’s possible that the Rams will cut Stafford before then, it appears that Stafford will be the team’s starting quarterback for the foreseeable future.

Sean McVay justifies Carson Wentz’s signing.

The Rams changed their quarterback room during the bye week by waiving Rypien and signing Carson Wentz. Wentz was unsigned during the offseason, but he now has a fantastic chance to regain his worth in Los Angeles.

According to McVay, they value Wentz’s experience and think he’s an improvement at backup quarterback.
