Which retaliation matchup excites you the most?

The Los Angeles Rams will be seeking retribution in 2024 since it’s often the case that revenge is best served cold. Even though the schedule for next season probably won’t be made public until after the NFL Draft, there are a lot of intriguing games scheduled.

NFL Network “analyst” Adam Rank released his ranking of the top revenge games to look out for in the upcoming season on April 1. Sadly, the Rams were left off the roster, which is absurd considering the number of exciting games that are still to come.

I promise not to drop the ball, even if Rank probably did. The following four LA revenge games are my top picks for the 2024 regular season:

@ Detroit Lions

Jared Goff vs. Matthew Stafford: Part III has to be at the top of the list. Without a doubt, I hope that this epic trilogy’s “conclusion” is more akin to “Return of the Jedi” than whatever the heck “The Godfather: Part III”was.

Stafford made his first trip back to the Motor City following his trade to the Rams in the Wild Card Round. The Lions narrowly prevailed by one point to secure a spot in the NFC Championship. Once again, both squads and signal callers are expected to be among the best in the conference.

vs Green Bay Packers

Packers, what are you? Yes, you will no longer benefit from the protection of the frozen tundra! Prepare for the sun of Southern California to melt your gooey keisters.

For the past three seasons, the Rams have made the trip to Lambeau Field during the later part of the regular season, all thanks to the merciless NFL schedule makers. For two NFC clubs who are on the rise, a lot is at stake in what will be the series’ 100th game.

Sean McVay, who is just 1-4 against the Cheeseheads overall, including in the playoffs, will also be seeking his own retribution.

vs Buffalo Bills

Hi there, Bills. The fans of the Rams have not forgotten about the NFL season kickoff in 2022. That 31-10 defeat was a true blow to the spirits after a truly depressing year.

With Josh Allen at quarterback, the Bills are among the greatest teams in the AFC (and choke artists). All kidding aside, Buffalo is still a contender for the Super Bowl even with their problems with the salary cap and the current scandal surrounding All-Pro Stefon Diggs.

When the Raiders previously faced the Bills, they had won the Lombardi Trophy, and LA was not even close to being a title candidate. The Rams are allegedly returning to take on the NFL’s best after a swift rebuilding season. This match will serve as a reliable barometer for Los Angeles.

@ San Francisco 49ers

An article about retaliation wouldn’t be complete without bringing up the Great Satan.

Since the 2019 season, the Rams have generally gotten a raw deal versus the Niners. The only victory over San Francisco in LA’s past ten meetings has come in a 21-20 victory in Week 18.

A win is still a win, even though it occurred when both teams were resting a lot of their starters in preparation for the postseason. Well done, Whiners! Many of their fans expressed dissatisfaction, saying that the win was meaningless in the circumstances.

Whatever. Until the Niners resolve to win a Super Bowl this century, I don’t think they should be discussing. The clock is ticking, you damn blowhards!
