Matthew Stafford is anticipated to start for the Los Angeles Rams against the Seattle Seahawks at SoFi Stadium on Sunday.

The quarterback should be able to play again, head coach Sean McVay informed reporters on Monday. The quarterback missed Week 9 because of a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his right thumb.

According to McVay, “He’s making great progress, so we’re operating with the anticipation and expectation that he is going to be good to go,” Sarah Barshop of ESPN reported. Although he will persevere, we anticipate that he will be able to lead the way this week and be able to start and play.

“[We] feel good about Matthew returning, and obviously when he’s out there, you feel great about the leadership and everything that he provides.”

Brett Rypien started at center in Stafford’s absence, but he didn’t perform well and was cut during Los Angeles’ Week 10 bye. According to McVay, the Rams upgraded the room by bringing in Carson Wentz.

The Rams are three games behind the leaders in the NFC West with a record of 3-6.
