The Chicago Bulls’ season may already be off to a rough start. It might lead to some significant adjustments before the trade deadline.

The likelihood that this would be the Chicago Bulls’ current core of DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine’s “final dance” was quite evident coming into the season. And the Bulls have had a difficult start to the season through the first three games, with no indication that things will get better.

After three games this season, the Bulls are 1-2, but they might very well be 0-3. The Bulls would have been winless going into a road game against the Indiana Pacers if it weren’t for an incredible comeback against the Toronto Raptors in the fourth quarter that led to an unexpected overtime victory.

The Bulls’ lone victory of the season has come between two disappointing losses, by 20 points and 16 points, respectively, to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Detroit Pistons.

It’s obvious that they need to make a swift adjustment before they drop too far in the Eastern Conference rankings. For the Bulls, though, it’s difficult to see any of that changing. Chicago is a statistically weak offensive and defensive club right now. They don’t perform particularly well, and even when one of their great players shines—LaVine scored 51 points—it still ends in a double-digit defeat.

The Chicago Bulls have until the NBA Trade Deadline to decide what to do with their team.

Before the NBA Trade Deadline, the Bulls need to make some important choices. The Bulls, who are in the last year of DeRozan’s contract, have already been said to be considering trading him; they will also need to decide how to handle LaVine.

The Bulls need to give seriously to the concept of overhauling the roster and going through another retooling if they want to succeed. Even with their exceptional individual talents, LaVine and DeRozan clearly don’t have much of an impact together in the Eastern Conference.

Throughout the previous two plus seasons, that much has been evident. It’s obvious that the Bulls are not as close to contending for a championship as they are to rebuilding.

Things will soon reflect in the Bulls’ actions if they don’t alter swiftly. It would be shocking if the Bulls didn’t make a move this season that might change the course of the franchise if they are unable to turn things around before the trade deadline.
