Mohamed Salah scored twice in the second half to help Liverpool defeat a tenacious Everton at Anfield.

After Ashley Young received a second caution for a foul on Luis Diaz, the opposition was forced to play for nearly an hour with ten men.

Jordan Pickford wasn’t much in danger, and Sean Dyche’s players were confident. However, a rare Liverpool attack ended in a penalty when Diaz’s cross struck Michael Keane’s extended arm.

Craig Pawson pointed to the location after being instructed to check the pitchside monitor, and Salah promptly provided the game’s opening strike.

The home team reacted and was able to score a second goal as Dyche’s men searched for a late equaliser.

Jurgen Klopp’s team was fortunate not to add to their total of four red cards received in their first eight games. Before the Reds’ score, Ibrahima Konate might have very easily been sent off.
