Leroy Sané, a forward for Bayern Munich, has been linked to Liverpool. The athlete already stated his rejection of Jürgen Klopp.
The Bayern Munich star Leroy Sané has already decided to relocate to Liverpool once in his career after getting a call from Jürgen Klopp. Sané, who transferred from Schalke 04 to the Premier League in 2016, chose to join Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City over a move to Liverpool.
To prepare for Mohamed Salah’s likely exit, Liverpool is reportedly mulling a deal for Sané, according to a report from the Daily Mirror over the weekend. Salah’s future has generated a lot of conjecture, and Al-Ittihad of the Saudi Pro League expressed interest in signing him during the summer transfer window.
The Saudi club verbally offered up to $182 million (£150 million/€173 million) for Salah, and they might do so again soon. This has given Liverpool’s pursuit of Sané as a Salah substitute more traction. It’s important to remember that Sané already talked about his close call with Liverpool before he joined Manchester City.
Sané acknowledged that he spoke with Liverpool and that Klopp personally contacted him in an interview with The Guardian in 2018. Sané praised Klopp’s efforts at Borussia Dortmund and referred to him as a nice and honest man. Sané ultimately decided to sign with Manchester City, though.
Sané’s current Bayern Munich deal has two years left on it. In Bavaria, there have been discussions about a potential contract renewal. Liverpool normally avoids pursuing players who will be 28 years old in January as part of its transfer policy, which may have an impact on its purported pursuit of Sané.
Sané may or may not move to Liverpool, but it is obvious that Klopp has been interested in the player ever since he was at Dortmund. It remains to be seen if Liverpool will pursue Sané in the future or look at other options to bolster their team.
As always, keeping Salah and giving him a new contract would be great, according to Liverpool.com. Although Sané is excellent, Salah is better and would score more goals than Sané.
