Injury updates for Liverpool and Royal Union Saint Gilloise before their Europa League Group E matchup.

On Thursday night at Anfield (20:00 BST), Liverpool will resume play when they take on Royal Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League.

The Reds enter the game having already suffered their first loss of the 2023–24 campaign. Although the game was marred by VAR controversy and Jurgen Klopp’s team finished the game with nine men, they were defeated 2-1 against Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite losing, Liverpool will still be able to look at the bright side because of their performance, which shows they will launch a top-four campaign in the Premier League after missing out on Champions League qualification the previous year.

The Reds are in Europe’s second-tier league this season, but they are determined to win it all. They defeated LASK 3-1 last month to get their Group E campaign off to an easy start. They are now getting ready for their first-ever encounter with Union, who are currently leading the Belgian league after defeating Charleroi 3-1.

Here is the current injury situation for both teams prior to the game.

1. Alessio Castro-Montes – doubt

Due to an injury, the midfielder missed Union’s previous game.

2. Loic Lapoussin – doubt

Additionally, the midfielder did not play in Union’s victory over Charleroi.

3. Dennis Eckert – out

Although the striker missed the previous four games, he scored five goals in as many games for Union this season.

4. Curtis Jones – available

The midfielder’s dismissal against Tottenham has been appealed by Liverpool, but he can still participate in the Europa League.

5. Diogo Jota – available

After being dismissed against Spurs, he’ll serve a one-match suspension in the Premier League, but he can play in Europe.

6. Thiago Alcantara – out

The midfielder’s hip issue keeps him out of action. But he has returned to solo training.

7. Cody Gakpo – out

The striker’s injury against Spurs will prevent him from playing in Liverpool’s upcoming matches.

8. Conor Bradley – out

The right-back’s stress fracture in his back prevents him from playing until next month.

9. Adrian – out
Due to roster limitations, Liverpool’s Europa League lineup does not contain the backup custodian.
