One German publication has suggested the next manager of Liverpool, as Jurgen Klopp’s future is uncertain at the moment.
The replacement for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is prepared to take the reins at Anfield as early as next summer.
The 56-year-old’s tenure on Merseyside may be coming to an end, according to a startling report from Germany. With eight years in the position, Klopp is currently the Premier League manager with the longest tenure.
But despite Klopp’s contract expiring in 2025, Liverpool has struggled to reach the heights they did earlier in the German’s career. Transfers have also been difficult, and there have been rumors that Klopp may consider leaving the club.
In spite of the fact that Hansi Flick’s dismissal eliminated Klopp from consideration for the national team manager position, BILD in Klopp’s native Germany asserts that he might still be a choice after the Euros.
The former RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has been named for the domestic tournament in Germany, but the article claims that he is a serious candidate to replace Klopp when his short-term contract expires after Euro 2024.
Despite being only 36 years old, Nagelsmann has already made an impression with his tactical prowess, employing many of the same pressing ideas that Klopp has been using for more than ten years. However, Nagelsmann was fired from Bayern last season amid concerns that the Bavarians wouldn’t win the title, and Thomas Tuchel was appointed in his place.
Marc Kosicke, Klopp’s own agent, recently dismissed rumors that he would become the manager of Die Mannschaft, telling Sportschau “Jurgen has a long-term contract with [Liverpool] and is not available for the national coaching position.”
Additionally, Xabi Alonso, a former midfielder who is currently making waves with Bayer Leverkusen, may be moving on to Liverpool. In his brief time in the Bundesliga, Alonso has made a huge impression, elevating Leverkusen to the level of a serious contender both domestically and internationally.
After defeating West Ham United at home this past weekend by a score of 3-1, the Merseysiders are now ranked second in the standings.
