Puka Nacua triumphs in the Pro Bowl Games.

February 1 marked the first Skills Showdown night of the Pro Bowl Games.

Nacua was declared the winner by the league on Sunday, February 4, at the Pro Bowl Games flag football halftime show.

Nacua was one of two players to compete in the Best Catch event during the Skills Showdown. The former star player for BYU faced off against tight end David Njoku of the Cleveland Browns.

Three tries were allowed for each offensive star to finish their best reception.

Prior to Thursday night’s live broadcast of the Pro Bowl Games, both athletes took part in the activity. The first recorded catch was made by Nacua. The Orem High product got out his wakeboard and was dragged 17 mph by a boat across the water.

Jimmy Clausen, a former NFL and Notre Dame quarterback, threw the ball to Nacua, who made the grab on his second try.

Njoku finished second.

The tight end for the Browns performed a backflip on a rope swim above a swimming pool, then tried to complete a catch.

Njoku made three attempts, but he was unable to retrieve the pigskin.

Fans had the opportunity to cast online votes for their favourite player to win the tournament after it had happened.

Nacua was declared the winner on Sunday.

Due to his performance in 2023, the rookie wide receiver was named to the NFL All-Pro second team.

With 105 receptions for 1,486 yards, Nacua set an NFL rookie record at the end of his debut campaign. He added six touchdowns to his total.
