This weekend is the 49ers’ hardest assignment of the year.
The San Francisco 49ers beat the Seattle Seahawks 31–13 on Thanksgiving to open up a lead in the NFC West last week.
They are now preparing for their most difficult assignment to date: a road game against the Philadelphia Eagles, who, after defeating the Buffalo Bills this past weekend, own the best record in the NFL (10-1).
The 49ers are seeking retribution from the Eagles, who defeated San Francisco handily in the NFC Championship Game the previous year despite quarterback Brock Purdy’s serious injury.
Before this weekend’s game, players on both sides have made disparaging remarks about one another, which has already started to escalate tensions.
In our most recent podcast, we talked about the 49ers’ victory over the Seahawks and the upcoming Week 13 game between San Francisco and Philadelphia, in which the 49ers are the slight favorites.
