Quez Watkins, a wide receiver, has been activated by the Philadelphia Eagles from injured reserve, the NFL team announced on Saturday.
Due to a hamstring injury, the former standout from Athens High School has missed the last five games. Watkins also missed the third and fourth games of the season due to the same injury.
Following 76 receptions for 1,001 yards and four touchdowns for Philadelphia in the 2021 and 2022 seasons, Watkins has four receptions for 21 yards in three games in 2023.
The Eagles signed Julio Jones from Foley, another former Alabama high school standout, after the wide receiver was placed on injured reserve. In four games, the former Alabama player has four receptions for 16 yards and one touchdown.
The Eagles take on the Buffalo Bills at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Sunday at 3:25 p.m. CST.
Additionally, two players with ties to the Alabama football team who were ineligible prior to Saturday will be available for the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The Chiefs activated wide receiver Montrell Washington (Samford) and running back La’Mical Perine (Theodore) from their practice squad for their game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday at 3:25 p.m. at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
For the Chiefs this season, Perine has played in one game and Washington in four.
