Quez Watkins, a receiver, was activated by the Eagles on Saturday from injured reserve, the team announced. After defensive end Derek Barnett was waived by the Eagles on Friday, he was able to take his place on the roster.
Watkins extended his 21-day window by going back to practice earlier this week. He only took part in a small portion of the three practice days.
Due to a hamstring injury, Watkins, 25, was placed on injured reserve on October 14. After missing two games earlier this season due to the same injury, he has now missed five.
Watkins has four catches for 21 yards in three games.
In addition, the Eagles declared that linebacker Ben VanSumeren and tight end Noah Togiai will be starting on Sunday’s squad.
On November 14, Togiai joined the practice squad, and with Dallas Goedert (fractured forearm) and Grant Calcaterra (ankle) sidelined, he will offer depth.
Over the 2021–2022 season, Togiai participated in three of the Eagles’ seven regular-season games.
For the last two games, VanSumeren, an undrafted rookie, was elevated to play special teams for the Eagles. His third and last elevation is this one.
In Week 9 of his NFL career, VanSumeren saw 10 special teams snaps; in Week 11, he had 22 special team snaps.
