In Week 12, the New England Patriots will take on the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, following their third victory of the season over the Washington Commanders, several key players are sidelined with injuries.
Several defenders were listed as limited and ruled out of practice on Thursday’s injury report. Tre Hawkins, Bobby Okereke, A’Shawn Robinson, and receiver Darius Slayton were among the limited players. Despite having a dislocated finger and a partially fractured rib, Okereke is anticipated to play against the Patriots.
It Would Be Too Much for the Giants to Lose Dexter Lawrence
Interior defender Dexter Lawrence, who has been healthy for the better part of two seasons, is the biggest loss. He sprained his hamstring and missed practice for two days in a row.
Lawrence’s absence from practice this week doesn’t look good for his availability on Sunday, but given that he weighs 342 pounds and moves like a running back, it’s possible the Giants are just giving them more time to rest, as they usually do every week.
Dexter has generated 53 pressures so far this season, including 5.0 sacks, 27 tackles, and 26 stops. His impact is crucial because he has grown into one of the best interior pass rushers in football and is regarded as one of the best defenders in the league. Even though the Giants offense improved and appeared much more at ease in Week 11, they cannot afford to lose a game of that size. Lawrence was a major contributor to their six turnovers defensed against Washington, which allowed them to gain momentum and keep the offense on the field.
