James Dolan decided Thanksgiving week was the right time to release his newest movie after the Sphere Blockbuster and the “owning teams is kinda sleepy to me.”

“The NBA neither needs nor wants my opinion.”

These are some of the most recent remarks made by Dolan, who resigned from the league’s board of governors and sent a statement to the world on Tuesday, according to ESPN. Dolan owns the New York Knicks.

“Given all that has occurred lately, I have come to the conclusion that the NBA neither needs nor wants my opinion,” Dolan said in full to the other 29 teams as well as the NBA, which is to say, the other 29 owners and commissioner Adam Silver.

Naturally, Dolan only partially resigned, saying that he “would turn to Knicks general counsel Jamaal Lesane to represent the organization” in upcoming BoG meetings, per ESPN’s read of his memo, which states that he “didn’t relinquish voting power” for the team.

Dolan said, “I hope the Knicks will be treated fairly and equally with all other NBA teams.”

Hold on, as the memo continues to flow (my emphasis always).

“As you know, I am very busy with all my duties at MSG’s family of companies. I need to apply my time where I can be most productive.”

Sheesh…

Dolan, a New York-based professional sports owner who believes he “won’t be beloved until [he] is dead,” recently voted against Michael Jordan’s decision to sell the Charlotte Hornets, according to the New York Post.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, he was also against adding a San Francisco-based WNBA expansion team.

The memo and Dolan’s remarks followed the Knicks’ request that the NBA and Silver step back from arbitrating the team’s lawsuit against the Raptors and instead allow the courts to do so.

Ikechukwu Azotam, a former team member, is the target of a lawsuit filed by the Knicks, who claim he stole confidential information from the team and shared it with the Toronto Raptors, his new team. More than $10 million in damages are sought in the lawsuit, according to reports.
