Dylan Horton, a rookie defensive end for Houston, is leaving the team due to an unidentified “personal health matter.”

In a statement issued by the team on Wednesday, Horton revealed the information.

“I’m currently dealing with a personal health matter that will keep me away from the team for an indefinite period of time,” he said in the statement. “I want to thank my family, my teammates and the entire Houston Texans organization for the support and care they have already provided me. I will provide updates from time to time, but my main focus right now is on my health and recovery.”

Horton played collegiately at TCU and New Mexico before being selected in the fourth round of the draft.

This season, in 10 games, he has made 13 tackles, two quarterback hits, and one fumble recovery. The 23-year-old’s three tackles on Sunday helped the team defeat Arizona 21–16, a season high.
