Given David De Gea’s current circumstances, United supporters could be forgiven for feeling a little confused.
At the end of the previous season, the Spaniard’s contract with United expired, and he was free to leave for nothing.
Although United considered retaining De Gea, they ultimately decided against it and signed Andre Onana as a replacement.
December is quickly coming, and De Gea is still without a new team. He went from possibly signing a new contract with United to not even being on the field.
Inter Miami is interested in David De Gea.
Earlier this month, reports in Spain indicated that De Gea was close to joining Real Betis of La Liga.
However, that agreement hasn’t happened, and De Gea might wind up in America.
According to The Daily Star, De Gea is currently being offered a way back into football by Inter Miami.
Both Betis and Valencia are reportedly still interested, but a transfer to Major League Soccer is currently being explored.
David Beckham, a legend of Manchester United and president of Inter Miami, is reportedly “quietly optimistic” that De Gea will give the transfer serious consideration.
De Gea might be drawn to Lionel Messi’s connection.
It’s hard to blame De Gea for being interested in moving to Florida.
Playing with Lionel Messi will be appealing, as will the climate and way of life.
Even with the arrival of Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, the former Barcelona teammates, the Argentine icon has been having fun with Inter Miami.
Due to his time playing for Spain on the international stage, Alba and Busquets are familiar with De Gea, and the former United stopper may think he can succeed in a different country.
Although we would still love to see De Gea play in Europe, the 33-year-old might want to give Major League Soccer a try.
