Following the Los Angeles Rams’ defeat to the Green Bay Packers, famous actor Samuel L. Jackson appeared to advocate for a leadership change within the organisation.

While it’s not unheard of for a talking head to disparage an NFL player or coach, an internationally renowned actor? That is a tale unto itself.

Samuel L. Jackson is well-known for his innumerable hit television programmes and motion pictures, but his involvement in the sports industry is less well-known. But the Oscar-winning actor shared a contentious opinion about the NFL on X, which was formerly known as Twitter. The questionable take? urging the Los Angeles Rams to think about firing renowned head coach Sean McVay.

“At what point do we start the Rams coaching conversation??!!” Jackson wrote.

Jackson made this remark shortly after the Rams’ 20-3 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, which brought their record down to 3-6 overall. It was their third straight loss.

The 74-year-old Jackson has never tweeted about the Rams before, according to the New York Post. It’s unclear why he chose to post about them now, but it’s clear that he’s not happy with the team’s current situation.

Following the Rams’ most recent defeat, McVay, who has dabbled in retirement since winning Super Bowl 56 in February 2022, admitted that there is still much to improve.

“Like anything else, I believe it’s just a matter of consistently evaluating everything—the rhythm, the routine, the atmosphere, the vibe—that we have,” McVay said to reporters on Monday. “We need to create a conducive atmosphere and environment so that these guys can realise their full potential. We did an excellent job of that, in my opinion. There’s going to be space for advancement forever.”

To qualify for the postseason, the Rams, who are currently two games out of the final Wild Card spot and ranked 12th in the NFC, will need to make a significant turnaround. That being said, perhaps Jackson’s critique will provide them with the motivation they require to be a formidable opponent in the postseason.
