Young Trent Kone-Doherty signs Liverpool to his first professional contract.

Trent Kone-Doherty, a 17-year-old winger for Liverpool, is the most recent member of the esteemed group of Youth Academy alumni from the city, having recently inked his first professional deal.

When Kone-Doherty left his local club, Derry City, in the summer of 2022, his trip to Liverpool officially began.

His new contract was confirmed by the club on their official website. The gifted winger made a big impact on the U18s’ success in his first season by showcasing his abilities and speed. He scored 11 goals in all, including an incredible three in the UEFA Youth League, to make an impact.

However, a regrettable injury ended Kone-Doherty’s promising season. His potential and commitment to the game persisted in spite of this setback, exciting the Liverpool supporters about his future.

Trent Kone-Doherty has maintained his stellar performance thus far in the 2023–24 campaign. He made his U21 debut in August and had an impact by scoring a vital goal against Derby County. This early success for the U21 team is a testament to his versatility and his smooth rise through Liverpool’s development systems.

Having trained with the senior team, he has got the chance to learn from Jurgen Klopp. These kinds of experiences are undoubtedly priceless for young players since they provide them the chance to learn from and be inspired by seasoned pros.

It won’t be long before the senior Liverpool squad is aware with his name as he keeps growing and rising through the ranks. Thanks to our other Trent, we can already say that.
