Liverpool defeated Nottingham Forest resoundingly at Anfield this afternoon, increasing pressure on Arsenal and Tottenham.

The Reds easily won the Premier League on Merseyside, securing a vital three points. Here is how Jurgen Klopp’s men scored.

Defence

Alisson Becker: 6-Nottingham Forest failed to put the Brazilian international to the test, thus he only faced two shots during the entire match. Becker won’t have an easier game this season than he did today.

Trent Arnold Alexander: 6 – Trent Alexander-Arnold had an atypically quiet day at work, trying to generate much in the final third while not facing many opportunities to break the bank.

Konate Ibrahima: 7 – Ibrahima Konate, who avoided receiving a red card against Everton the previous weekend, was at his very best this afternoon, making it impossible for Nottingham Forest’s forwards to defeat the Frenchman.

Virgil Van Dijk : 7 Similar to his teammate at centre back, Virgil van Dijk was a dominant force in defence, spending the majority of the match in the opposition’s half as Nottingham Forest was unable to put much pressure on Liverpool.

Kostas Tsimikas: 7 – The Greek international made another impressive showing as he harassed Serge Aurier and Morgan Gibbs-White down the left flank.

Midfield

Dominik Szoboszlai: 7 – Once again showcasing his creative abilities in the attacking third against Nottingham Forest, Dominik Szoboszlai assisted Darwin Nunez to make it 2-0 to Liverpool with a brilliant cut-back.

Alexis Mac Allister: 7 – The Argentine midfielder once again put on a dominant display, occasionally pushing forward to put Nottingham Forest’s defence to the test.

Gravenberch Ryan: 7 – Ryan Gravenberch had a strong performance against Nottingham Forest after shining against Toulouse in the middle of the week, making the midfield trio maybe Jurgen Klopp’s strongest option available today.

Salah Mohamed: 7 – The winger took some time to secure the three points, but Mohamed Salah was eventually rewarded with a goal following a mistake by Nottingham Forest.

Darwin Nunez: 7 – The Uruguayan international doubled Liverpool’s advantage and increased his season total to six goals, once again causing havoc for his team.

Diogo Jota: 8 – Started the first goal for Liverpool after putting Matt Turner to the test the entire way. The £40 million player delighted Jurgen Klopp with an outstanding display at Anfield.

Harvey Elliott: 6-Shortly after replacing Ryan Gravenberch, he nearly scored. Another impressive appearance for Harvey Elliott off the bench.

Cody Gakpo: 5 – The winger made an effective bench cameo, but not particularly noteworthy.

Endo Wataru: N/A

N/A Joe Gomes
