• Toulouse, the winner of the French Cup, will play Liverpool on Thursday night in the Europa League.
  • The Reds have topped Group E after winning their first two group matches.
  • Jurgen Klopp plans to make wholesale changes to the starting XI.

Liverpool struggled against a resolute Everton defence, but in the weekend Merseyside derby, they prevailed.

Even though the Reds’ season hasn’t started off perfectly, they have shown enough to suggest they can at the very least compete with Manchester City for the Premier League championship. Additionally, they are one of the favourites to win the Europa League.

Since the first half in Linz, Jurgen Klopp’s team has been marching through the competition. Liverpool has scored five unanswered goals since giving up the opening goal to LASK on Matchday 1 to lead Group E with six points after six games.

On Thursday night, when they play their Matchday 3 match at Anfield, they will take on Ligue 1 team Toulouse.

Here is a possible starting lineup for the Reds in their upcoming match.

Liverpool predicted lineup vs Toulouse (4-3-3)

GK: Caoimhín Kelleher- The Irishman rejoined the team during the weekend, indicating he will be healthy enough to play on Thursday.

RB: Joe Gomez – As he did previously this season when his teammate was absent, Klopp will probably give Trent Alexander-Arnold a break and allow Gomez to come in at right-back.

CB: Joel Matip -Although both Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate have been given Europa League starting, neither is anticipated to play on Thursday.

CB: Jarell Quansah -Every chance the young defender has had to play with the first team thus far has been successful. Against Toulouse, he ought to have another opportunity to shine.

LB: Kostas Tsimikas – In the next months, the Greek international, will see plenty of playing time as Andy Robertson recovers from shoulder surgery.

DM: Wataru Endo -At the beginning of his Liverpool career, Endo played the majority of his minutes in this league. On Thursday, the Japanese midfielder should start.

CM: Curtis Jones – Given that Jones will complete his final Premier League suspension game at the weekend, Klopp is wise to start him in the middle of the week. Before the midfielder was sent off against Tottenham Hotspur, his impact had been increasing.

CM: Harvey Elliott – Although the 20-year-old has performed admirably in Liverpool’s first two group games, Premier League starts remain scarce.

RW: Darwin Nunez – will likely be moved around by Klopp’s front line, while Cody Gakpo might come off the bench. Matchday 2 saw Mohamed Salah start, but on Thursday he’ll probably receive a rest.

ST: Diogo Jota – is one of only two derby starters who is expected to stay on the side. Jota will take up positions on both flanks and rotate frequently with Nunez.

LW: Luis Diaz – Ben Doak is Kiopp’s backup option, but the manager is probably going to start the game strong in an effort to end it quickly.
