After the Tottenham midfielder’s social media jab, Trent Alexander-Arnold leaked a humiliating image of James Maddison, another member of the English national team.
Following demands for a rematch of Tottenham’s contentious 2-1 victory over Liverpool on Monday, Maddison targeted Alexander-Arnold.
During the international break, the Tottenham midfielder uploaded a photo to Instagram of himself grinning at Alexander-Arnold, who looks to be whining about something.
“Still asking for a replay,” Maddison captioned the article, adding the sleeping, smiling, and loving emojis.
Liverpool supporters have apparently posted a video of Alexander-Arnold making fun of the 26-year-old for his FIFA prowess on EA Sports FC in revenge.
In a video uploaded to Sports Direct Football’s TikTok account, Maddison can be seen shooting at his countryman while playing the “pass the phone” game while on international duty. The video is available to view below.
He said: “I am passing the phone to someone who I used to absolutely slap about on FIFA with the England Under-21s.”
In a later video, Alexander-Arnold was shown responding to the tape, saying: “Madders is c**p on FIFA” before revealing he had an embarrassing photo of the former Leicester player.
“I’ve got a video. I haven’t got my phone.
“I’ll get a video. I’ve got him on his knees, saying he’s sorry for challenging me.
“I swear I’ve got it. Let me see if I can get the vid,” he added, before revealing a hilarious image of Maddison on his knees.
After a goal by Luis Diaz was wrongly disallowed for offside during Tottenham and Liverpool’s Premier League match, VAR became a hot topic. Reds manager Jurgen Klopp then demanded that the game be replayed.
Howard Webb, the head of PGMOL, has subsequently spoken out about the incident and described his strategy for avoiding similar mistakes in the future.
