Cody Gakpo may have had a major injury against Tottenham Hotspur, according to Jurgen Klopp.

Being fouled by Destiny Udogie just before the goal, the Dutchman, who had scored for Liverpool, collapsed after putting in the equaliser.

Additionally, according to Klopp’s post-game press conference, which was broadcast on liverpoolfc.com, it might not be good for Gakpo.

The manager added that Cody Gakpo’s injury from a free kick, which occurred before he scored, was the game’s biggest issue. “He is now limping down the hallway with a brace,” the manager said.

“To be honest, that’s my biggest issue right now. We may have lost a third player in addition to the two players we lost due to red cards. Therefore, it is evident that we must deal with that.

“The biggest problem of the game, to be honest… before Cody Gakpo scored, we got a free-kick and he got injured and he is now with a brace limping down the corridor,” said the manager.

“That’s my biggest problem, to be honest, in this moment. We lost two [to red cards] and maybe a third player – really bad, really bad. So, yes, that’s something we have to deal with obviously.

When asked if Gakpo’s injury was a “bad one,” Klopp acknowledged that it might be. Maybe, I don’t know,” the German answered.

“He wore a brace. He scored a goal but afterwards, but after that shot he felt it even more. It was from the foul before.”

Gakpo strikes Liverpool.
Gakpo will almost probably miss Liverpool’s final two matches before the international break, it appears.

Klopp’s options are beginning to be limited since Diogo Jota has also been suspended for the match against Brighton the following weekend.

Darwin Nunez missed today’s game due to a minor ailment that also persisted from the previous international break, the manager confirmed. To start against the Seagulls, the Uruguayan must be healthy.

Even though Liverpool has a formidable attacking line, this is a fantastic illustration of how unpredictable football can be.

It’s really unfortunate for Gakpo as well. After a shaky start to the season, the 24-year-old scored his third goal in as many games against Spurs.

In the end, it didn’t matter much, but Gakpo scored a good goal, and Liverpool will miss him if he’s out for a while.

I’m crossing my fingers that it’s not as horrible as it sounds. But things don’t seem promising.
