Liverpool had to fight hard to defeat West Ham, but Jurgen Klopp’s team picked up the pace when it was necessary.

Another game that had a delicate balance going into the second half was this one.

The Reds did not behind for once, although they did concede after Mo Salah’s early penalty was successfully offset by Jarrod Bowen’s outstanding header.

Fortunately, Darwin Nunez was there to volley home from a fine ball by Alexis Mac Allister into the penalty area after missing an earlier opportunity.

Diogo Jota’s strike nearly immediately after entering the game helped Liverpool maintain possession of the ball and avoid a tense conclusion.

As fans at Anfield celebrated another Premier League victory for Liverpool, there was much to consider.

Exercising Nunez

The Uruguayan is a bit of a mystery. As long as the Reds are winning, he was able to volley home from Mac Allister’s exquisite pass after missing a chance.

The pass from Mac Allister wasn’t terrible either.

Great Bowen header, but could it have been prevented?

Divergent opinions existed on West Ham’s lone goal, with some believing that more could have been done to stop it.

“Defense lets us down game after game, just tiring” – Mims in the comments.

“Sometimes you just have to say “great header Jared Bowen” and leave it at that. I don’t think it was a defensive error per se.” – David Mc in the comments.
