Prior to their matchup with Liverpool, David Moyes spoke to the media.

Jarrod Bowen has been listed as a doubt for West Ham’s matchup with Liverpool this weekend by manager David Moyes.

The attacker was not present when they defeated Backa Topola 3-1 in the Europa League last night at the London Stadium following a comeback.

Given that he has three goals and one assist so far this season, Bowen has been in fantastic form and his absence would be crucial for the Hammers.

During today’s press conference, Moyes provided an update on Bowen and Aaron Cresswell: “Jarrod Bowen has had a virus so we’ll need to see how he is, But the others, we seem okay. Aaron Cresswell felt his hamstring last night so we’ll see how he is today, but otherwise we’re okay.”

If Bowen is unable to travel to Anfield, it will mark a significant milestone because it will be the end of a streak of 51 consecutive Premier League appearances.

With 44 goals scored over the past two seasons and the decisive goal in the Europa Conference League final, he has had an immeasurable impact on this West Ham team.

With the Athletic reporting that Bowen is one of the options to take Mohamed Salah’s place on the right wing, Bowen has also been linked with a transfer to Liverpool.

The West Ham manager also commented on Liverpool’s tenacity thus far this season, having seen his team come from behind to defeat LASK last night. He is fully aware of the monumental task that awaits him and his team this weekend.

Moyes stated: “Some teams have got ahead of Liverpool but Liverpool have pegged them back. It’s a big, hard game. The crowd and the stadium play a big role at Anfield.

“In recent years we’ve given them tough games and we’ll try to give them a good game on Sunday. We know we’re playing a good side and we want to show what we can do.”
