With the club announcing the top 10 for 2023/24, Mohamed Salah’s position as the most popular name on the back of Liverpool jerseys has been stolen.
According to LFC Retail, Salah’s name and number were the most popular ones on the back of Liverpool jerseys for the previous two seasons.
However, Dominik Szoboszlai has already supplanted the Egyptian as the favorite among supporters for the 2023–24 campaign.
Szoboszlai is one of the club’s top 10 newcomers, along with Alexis MacAllister, who came in third. Alisson and Cody Gakpo are the other two newcomers from the previous season’s list.
Darwin Nunez fell two spots, Luis Diaz moved up four spots, and Virgil van Dijk moved down three spots, bringing Salah down to second position.
Alisson’s presence is noteworthy because goalkeeper jerseys seldom sell as well as outfield jerseys.
Despite finishing in the top 10 previous season, Thiago, Harvey Elliott, Roberto Firmino, and Jordan Henderson have all moved up.
Perhaps it is not surprising that Szoboszlai has gained such a following among supporters, and not just because of the frenzy surrounding his £60 million transfer from RB Leipzig.
The captain of Hungary has stepped into Naby Keita’s No. 8 jersey, which was made famous by Steven Gerrard. So far, his performances have lived up to the hype.
Ibrahima Konate, Diogo Jota, and Curtis Jones are notable exclusions from Liverpool’s top 10 best-sellers, while Ryan Gravenberch’s entry came much too late.
