After serving as manager of the New York Mets for the previous two seasons, Buck Showalter will not be taking over the position in 2024.

He played baseball in the minor leagues, worked as a commentator for ESPN and the YES Network, and worked in the dugout.

Given his experience and in-depth understanding of the game, it is clear that he has a lot to offer as an on-air analyst.

Showalter is one of the most reputable figures in the business and has won Manager of the Year four times, despite never winning a World Series.

The Mets chose Mendoza because he was a younger player with new ideas, and they also made changes to other areas of the squad under the direction of new baseball director David Stearns.

They no longer had plans for Showalter, who guided the team to the postseason in 2022 but was unable to return last season.
