NFL quarterback Dak Prescott is the focus of two police investigations in addition to his extortion lawsuit against a woman who accused him of sexually abusing her.
Following a March 12 report from a complainant over an alleged February 2, 2017, incident that occurred in the XTC Cabaret parking lot in the 8500 block of Stemmons Freeway, Dallas police have announced that they are investigating a sexual assault claim against the Prescott.
The report was made public on Tuesday, the same day that Prescott filed a lawsuit in Collin County against the accuser and her lawyers, claiming that they were being used as a bribe to keep the incident a secret in exchange for $100 million.
It also occurs after Prescott and his legal representative informed the Prosper police department about the attempted extortion. Prosper police have stated that they are looking into allegations that Prescott was the victim of extortion.
In an 11-page lawsuit filed in Collin County on Monday, Prescott claimed that Victoria Shores of Fort Worth and her lawyers, Yoel and Bethel Zehaie, were attempting to extract $100 million from him in order to resolve a 2017 sexual assault claim.
Shores claimed she would be “willing to forego pursuing criminal charges, along with disclosing this information to the public, in exchange for compensating her for the mental anguish she has suffered,” according to a letter her attorneys submitted to Prescott earlier this year.
In a text message to the Star-Telegram on Monday, Prescott refuted the allegation of sexual assault.
Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones stated that although the management has discussed cases with Prescott, it hasn’t affected the ongoing negotiations regarding a contract extension.
