The MLB transaction page for infielder Jose Rondon indicates that the team has signed him to a minor league deal.

In 2021, Rondon made his final big league appearance while playing for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 63 games during that season, he slashed.263/.322/.413 with three home runs and nine RBI.

In the winter league this offseason, the 29-year-old hit 17 home runs. In December of last year, he defeated Francisco Alvarez, 9–8, in the opening round of the Venezuelan Home Run Derby.

Rondon tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug in 2022, which resulted in an 80-game suspension.

Rondon was sent by the Mets to Triple-A Syracuse upon his signing.
