Here are my three thoughts from the Dallas Cowboys’ thrilling 41-35 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on a night when there were no punts.

Dak Prescott

Whether you like him or not, Dak Prescott has outperformed everyone else in the last six games when it comes to football throwing.

We all agreed that it was against inferior teams and that he was incapable of winning a football game against a team that was significantly superior.

Prescott, though, did not disappoint. After trailing by five points with less than five minutes remaining in the football game, Prescott connected with Jake Ferguson for a 12-yard touchdown.

They increased their lead to three points after they converted a two-point try.

Prescott finished the game 29 of 41, 299 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

He is playing at an MVP level right now, we cannot deny it.

It is better to be late than never.

The Cowboy defense had a terrible night.

It took them until the final three Seattle possessions to stop a nosebleed.

I worry about them; I really do. You ask questions when you don’t try to force a punt.

But as I said, it’s better late than never because they were able to focus and execute the plays that changed the game when it mattered most.

The final three times Geno Smith and the Seattle offense had the ball, they forced a turnover on downs.

This week, I’ll go into more detail about the defense, but when the team most needed them, they delivered.

Penalties

They’ve returned.

Nine of them for 127 yards went to Dallas. That is not how you go up against the 49ers or the Eagles.

They had a bad first half against Dallas.

The Cowboys’ defensive penalties created easy opportunities for Seahawks touchdowns on two different drives.

Seattle entered the red zone when Rashaan Evans was called for pass interference.

A few plays later, Gilmore was called for one in the end zone, which allowed for a simple one-yard rushing touchdown.

A second was created by Bland’s pass interference.

Both sides of the football field had awful calls. The majority were valid, but rather than waiting to raise the flag until something happened, the referees were only interested in raising their own.

Still, this is a fantastic team victory for a team that has dropped these kinds of games for the previous ten years.

I didn’t think Dallas had a chance to win this game, and I think that their current offensive confidence is what makes them capable of playing with anyone.

With the Eagles visiting town the following Sunday, the offense must perform in this manner in order to travel to Miami, face the Bills on the road, and then return home to play the Lions.

Over the course of the next month, we will discover a great deal more about this team, but man, it felt amazing to win a game that they had lost the majority of.
