Following Aaron Nola’s Sunday signing of a seven-year contract with the Phillies, we took a look back at his time in Philadelphia.
Aaron Nola is not leaving.
A source confirmed that Nola and the Phillies have reached an agreement on a seven-year contract worth $172 million.
The Phillies gave re-signing the starting pitcher, who has been with the team since being drafted in 2014, top priority during the early MLB offseason. He will remain with Philadelphia for a total of 16 seasons, ending with the 2030 campaign, thanks to the seven-year contract.
He will surpass Steve Carlton (15 seasons) as the Phillies pitcher with the most tenure if he stays put. Additionally, he will only be two seasons behind Mike Schmidt—who has played for the Phillies for the longest—by 18 seasons.
It’s significant.
We’ll be able to enjoy Nola days at Citizens Bank Park for another seven years. and admirers are expressing their delight (as they should):
Hi there again, Noles. Well, hello again from home.
