While Jaylin Hyatt and Kayvon Thibodeaux are undergoing concussion protocol, the New York Giants finally receive some positive injury news.
The New York Giants have had a difficult season, but before Week 11, some positive news is beginning to emerge for this team. Due to concussions, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Jaylin Hyatt have not been able to play, but they may soon be back.
According to USA Today team beat writer Art Stapleton, neither Thibodeaux nor Hyatt is out of the woods just yet; they are approaching the last phase of the concussion protocol. It is hoped that they will both be cleared on Friday so they can play against the Giants.
“After yesterday’s non-contact session, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Jalin Hyatt will begin contact practice today, the last phase of the concussion protocol. In order to obtain permission to play on Sunday, Thibodeaux and Hyatt anticipated meeting with independent documents following practice.”
While the Giants are pretty much done for the season, it will be good to see Jaylin Hyatt and Kayvon Thibodeaux return from injury. The defensive lineman Thibodeaux’s ability has been missed by New York. Furthermore, the Hyatt will immediately kick in and invigorate a flagging offense.
When healthy, Thibodeaux has maintained his consistency for the Giants. Through 10 games, the star defensive end has recorded 26 total tackles (eight for a loss), 8.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. New York will welcome him back to the lineup with open arms.
Hyatt, meanwhile, hasn’t played a big role in his rookie campaign thus far. Just 11 receptions for 214 yards have been caught by him. Although the rookie wide receiver hasn’t yet reached the big time, if he makes a full recovery from his injury, he might play a bigger role. especially with Darren Waller still on injured reserve.
The Giants could certainly use all the assistance they can get, so hopefully both of these guys can contribute right away after recovering from their injuries.
