Carmelo Anthony claims that the first time he played for the New York Knicks was the pinnacle of his illustrious career.

Throughout his legendary basketball career, Carmelo Anthony achieved some of the highest points in the sport, including winning three gold medals with the US men’s national basketball team at the Olympic Games and a national championship in college basketball at Syracuse.

But Anthony made a suggestion that they are all insignificant compared to Madison Square Garden’s first game against the New York Knicks.

Anthony believes that nothing will ever be like his first experience representing his hometown team at MSG. In February 2011, Anthony made his NBA debut with the Knicks following a trade with his former team, the Denver Nuggets. Highlights from his career to date were shown during his arrival, set to the Diddy, Dirty Money, and Skylar Grey song “Coming Home.”

“That was like the most meaningful game,” Anthony said. “Coming back to the Garden, that was full-circle. Most kids dream of playing in the Garden, but I didn’t dream of playing in the Garden. Never dreamt about it. It was just so far-fetched it was like whatever.”
