Jaire Alexander, a cornerback for the Packers, is no longer sidelined by a back injury, but he missed practice due to a recent health issue.

Jaire Alexander is perpetually unlucky. The cornerback for the Green Bay Packers had a shoulder injury in Week 10 and was listed on the team’s injury report. This was after he eventually fully recovered from the back issue that had followed him since September.

Alexander was “banged up,” according to Packers coach Matt LaFleur, during Sunday’s thrilling victory over the Los Angeles Rams. As a result, he missed practice on Wednesday. Green Bay’s initial injury report of the week was the only way the public learned about his shoulder ailment.

Against the Rams, Alexander participated in every action and finished with seven tackles, one for loss. Due to a back injury he sustained during practice prior to the Packers’ Week 3 matchup with the New Orleans Saints, he has only appeared in five games in 2023. Alexander made the tackle when he advanced to take on Alex McGough, the third-string quarterback for the Green Bay practice squad.

“I joke with him now, but I say blame Alex. It’s his fault,” Jaire Alexander joked in late October, per Kassidy Hill of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “He didn’t do nothing wrong at all, but it’s his fault. We collided mid-air, honestly. I don’t know how the third-string QB and starting corner collide but, hey, no one did nothing wrong.”

During practice on Wednesday, Alexander was joined on the sidelines by a number of players, including guard Jon Runyan and linebacker Quay Walker. Players with limited participation included nose tackle Kenny Ford, guard Elgton Jenkins, and running back Aaron Jones.

In Week 10, the 3-5 Packers visit Acrisure Stadium to play the Pittsburgh Steelers.
