After being detained by the National Liberation Army for a week, the rebel organisation has declared that Luis Manuel Diaz will now be released.

The kidnappers of Liverpool forward Luis Diaz’s father are about to release him.

The National Liberation Army abducted Diaz’s mother and father, Luis Manuel Diaz, last weekend (ELN). Police quickly freed his mother, Cilenis Marulanda, but his father has remained in custody.

However, Diaz’s father will now be released “as soon as possible,” one week after being abducted.

The group sent a statement to El Colombiano that said, “We salute Colombia and the Caribbean.” “We stand in solidarity with the families who endure suffering and tragedies as a result of joblessness, paramilitarism’s criminal violence, and the State’s desertion.” The primary danger to the stability of the area is the corruption of political clans.

“The Northern War Front has commands with economic missions, and one of them performs a privation of freedom. This is motivated by his release because he is a family member of the legendary athlete that we all adore as Colombians, after it was reported and confirmed that the priest in question is Lucho Diaz.

“The release process starts then, and we want to make sure there are no incidents. steadfast in pursuing peaceful avenues while implementing the necessary adjustments that the nation requires. from the Caribbean region.”

Despite not having played for Liverpool since the kidnapping, Diaz is expected to play on Sunday against Luton.

“He was in training two days ago, he had a session on Friday (with the squad), and he will be part of the team,” Reds manager Jurgen Klopp told reporters on Friday. We have to wait; he will come and train with us if he feels well.

“During our session, it was evident that he gets along well with the boys.” However, it was also evident that he didn’t get much sleep. We shall therefore wait; it is entirely his decision whether or not to make himself available, and I will not press the issue.”
