One forward will make his comeback for Liverpool against Toulouse in their most recent Europa League match, but several players from Jurgen Klopp’s team are still out.
After triumphs against LASK and Union SG, the Reds can maintain their perfect start to the Europa League campaign on Thursday at Anfield against the French team.
Fortunately, there were no further problems from the Merseyside derby over the weekend, and on Thursday the manager oversaw a xx-man training squad.
After missing three games, Klopp will welcome back a forward to the team, but his squad still lacks key players.
Who is therefore available for Thursday night’s encounter against Liverpool and who is not? Let’s examine this:
Cody Gakpo (knee) – available
Curtis Jones (suspension) – available
Luke Chambers (ankle)– available
Ben Doak (muscle) – unavailable
Conor Bradley (back) – unavailable
Stefan Bajcetic (calf) – unavailable
Thiago (hip) – unavailable
Andy Robertson (shoulder) – unavailable
Due to a knee injury, Cody Gakpo has missed the Reds’ previous three games. Klopp has confirmed that he has been fully trained since Sunday.
The Dutchman will be part of the squad, but it will be interesting to “see” if he returns to the starting lineup.
Given that this is a European encounter, Klopp may choose to use Curtis Jones in preparation for Sunday’s match, when the Reds play Nottingham Forest, to complete his three-game suspension.
Unfortunately, due to a muscular injury sustained during the international break, Ben Doak will not be able to get his first goal this time around.
In contrast, Luke Chambers has returned to training and might make a cameo at left back after making a brief appearance in the League Cup against Leicester.
The manager of Andy Robertson reported that everything is “as good as it can be” following his successful shoulder surgery. The next phase of his recovery will begin immediately, and he won’t be returning to action until 2024.
Lastly, Stefan Bajcetic, Conor Bradley, and Thiago have not yet resumed full team training.
