In advance of a match against Toulouse, Jurgen Klopp invited two players to practise with the first squad yesterday, giving an indication as to who might be selected.

Neil Jones provided the relevant news on X. This evening, the Merseysiders will play the Ligue 1 team in the Europa League group stages.

Due to Andy Robertson’s injury, the German strategist will have to decide between Luke Chambers, Calum Scanlon, Kostas Tsimikas, and possibly Joe Gomez, who is becoming a more versatile option, as a slightly left-of-field alternative.

We’ve had a great start to our time in Europe so far, defeating Royal Union Saint Gilloise of Belgium at Anfield and then winning a thrilling match against LASK in Austria.

Toulouse, on the other hand, has previously achieved a number of noteworthy results both domestically and internationally, including beating LASK and drawing with PSG, so they shouldn’t be considered possible pushovers.

Given Tsimikas’s lack of playing time and his tough exterior, it wouldn’t come as a huge surprise if the Greek international started at least the first 45 minutes at L4.

Having said that, we would be happy to give our aforementioned young teammates any chance to play.
