For this weekend’s Merseyside derby at Anfield, Everton manager Sean Dyche has announced his squad will be without three key players.
Following the international break, the Premier League will resume on Saturday as the city’s red and blue halves prepare to face off in the early kick-off.
Three of the Blues’ starters will be missing from the match after Dyche gave his team a fitness check on Thursday before the match.
Dele Alli, Andre Gomes, and Seamus Coleman will all be out for the match due to ongoing fitness concerns, according to the Everton manager.
Prior to the game, Dyche spoke with the media and said the following: “Dele Alli and Andre [Gomes] are out. Seamus Coleman is back on the grass for the first time.”
Alli and Gomes are yet to play this season, and captain Coleman has been sidelined since May with a major knee injury.
Idrissa Gana Gueye is expected to be available after being sidelined for the win at home against Bournemouth before the break, he did offer further good news for Everton supporters.
Prior to the game, Liverpool is dealing with its own injury woes. Andy Robertson is anticipated to miss a significant amount of time after dislocating his shoulder during Scotland’s 2-0 loss to Spain last week.
Cody Gakpo, who participated in practise before Everton’s visit, is poised to make a comeback.
The disputed 2-1 loss to Tottenham last month was caused by the Dutch forward’s own knee injury, which prevented him from joining the Netherlands team during the break.
Due to cramping he experienced after Uruguay’s victory over Brazil, Darwin Nunez’s availability is uncertain; nonetheless, he exercised with Gakpo in advance of Saturday.
On Friday at 1.30pm (BST), Jurgen Klopp is scheduled to face the media at the AXA Training Centre. He is anticipated to offer his own set of fitness updates.
