Young Liverpool player Ben Doak continues to receive accolades from all corners for his electrifying performances.

One of the Reds’ most promising young players in recent memory is the 17-year-old. Doak is currently pushing for a senior international call-up after breaking through to Jurgen Klopp’s first team.

The Scotsman also claims that last night, the push intensified. They assert that senior manager Steve Clarke, who is allegedly considering Doak’s selection, was keeping an eye on the flying winger for his nation’s U21 team.

On the 62nd minute, the Liverpool youngster was taken off after winning and then scoring a penalty for his club. Once Doak left the pitch, Clarke is alleged to have “swiftly headed for the exit.”

When asked whether Ben could play for Clarke’s team against France on Tuesday, U21 coach Scott Gemmill gushed over the ‘wonderful’ young forward.

The coach stated, “That’s Steve’s decision, but we talk about it frequently and he knows he can take a player from me whenever he wants.” When that moment is, he and his staff will determine.

“Everyone is eager to meet Ben, and we all concur that he has tremendous potential and is doing very well. We all have a huge obligation to support him in realising that potential. Although he wasn’t the only player to thrill the crowd tonight, it’s fantastic to witness such a young youngster do so.”

Doak shines once more.

You can see why Doak hasn’t already been called up to the Scotland senior team. Despite his excellent performance, the former Celtic star has only made eight appearances for Liverpool.

However, it’s clearly obvious that he will develop into a top talent. Why wait when he will undoubtedly play for his nation’s first squad at some point?

Doak ‘dazzled’ for the U21s, according to The Herald, aside from his goal last night. He frequently does.

Ironically, if he receives the call-up on Tuesday, it will be in lieu of Andy Robertson, his Liverpool teammate and coach.

Robbo had a shoulder injury on Thursday night, and it appears that he will need to sit out for a while.

It would have been charming to witness the left-back for the Reds introducing his much younger teammate to the formation. But if Doak receives the call right away, nothing like that will occur.

Regardless, it appears that the two will continue to play together for both club and country. Of course, at 17, there is plenty of time for all of that, but Doak is pressed for time.
