Pedro Neto, a winger for Wolves, could be a target for Liverpool in the January transfer window.

The Reds, who have apparently been keeping an eye on the 23-year-old for some time, have been connected with a resurgence of interest in him this week.

Additionally, TEAMTalk claims that Jorge Mendes, Neto’s agent, is ‘pushing’ for his client to make a significant move in 2024. According to reports, it may entail a move to Liverpool, who are thought to be “firmly in the mix.”

Both clubs have allegedly been actively scouting Neto in recent months, including Arsenal. Three further Premier League teams, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United, are said to be interested.

According to rumours, Neto has the choice of moving to Saudi Arabia. However, given that the Portugal international is rumoured to want to remain in England and that Wolves are apparently prepared to “cash in” on his success, Liverpool may actually be a viable option.

Neto agitating for Wolves departure

They also publish some statements from journalist Graeme Bailey who elaborates on Neto’s condition in addition to the material from TEAMTalk’s article.

According to Bailey, “Wolves are anticipating Neto to depart in January.” This information comes from insiders in the club. But we would have to pay what they valued. Even if his contract isn’t up until 2027, he’s displaying the kind of form that would tempt a buyer to act in January.

Although Neto will likely transfer in 2024 and most likely in January, Jorge Mendes and his staff are sure about it. However, it will rely on the requirements of those who are interested.

It would be unexpected if Neto went to Liverpool if he were to depart in January.

The former Lazio wide player is in excellent shape. Wolves veteran Steve Bull has referred to his exploits thus far this year as “unbelievable” (Express & Star). Indeed, it has been the kinds of performances that compel elite teams to make mid-season spending decisions.

If a player is the correct fit, Liverpool isn’t afraid to spend a lot of money in the winter transfer window on him. They have signed players like Virgil van Dijk, Philippe Coutinho, Luis Suarez, and most recently Cody Gakpo in January over the years.

However, it doesn’t seem as though the forward line is a priority this time. If Neto leaves Wolves before Mohamed Salah departs in the summer of 2019, though, we don’t believe he’ll be moving to Anfield.
