Because of his remarks about the referee after Liverpool’s humiliating loss at Tottenham, Alexis Mac Allister can be charged by the FA.

At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, Liverpool suffered a heartbreaking last-second defeat, dropping their first league game of the year.

After the visitors were reduced to nine men, Joel Matip scored into his own net in the final seconds to give Spurs the victory.

Following a contentious VAR review, Curtis Jones was dismissed, while substitute Diogo Jota received two yellow cards.

Liverpool supporters believe that match official Simon Hooper committed a “error” and that a Spurs player ought to have been sent off.

For their upcoming league match, Jones and Jota will be absent, and Mac Allister might as well too.

Following the outcome, the Argentine midfielder attacked Hooper on social media. “Normal when you have 12 players,” Cristian Romero said in the caption of his celebratory photo.

For raising concerns about the match referee’s impartiality, the FA might file charges against Mac Allister.

Due to their loss to Tottenham, Liverpool might also receive an FA wrap.

Meanwhile, Klopp’s group will resume play on Thursday when they take on Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League. They will then resume league play on Sunday against Brighton.
