According to reports, the Premier League and the EFL have also achieved a historic agreement.
The 20 clubs in the top-flight reportedly approved the proposal at an online Premier League meeting on Thursday, and it will now be presented to TV companies in the coming weeks.
The report goes on to say that if the proposal passes, hundreds more games will be broadcast, and possibly a completely new package will be offered in the upcoming TV deal. It is also claimed that there could now be a dramatic upturn in the current £5.1billion three-year deal with the live rights shared between Sky, TNT Sports, and Amazon, who currently show 200 games each season.
According to a recent story in The Telegraph, the suggestions for the upcoming cycle might result in as many as four games being aired on a Sunday with a late kick-off at 6.30pm, which would already increase the travel expenses for supporters of teams throughout the nation.
