The Reds have received a significant assist from Man City in their quest for trophies, and Manchester United may soon decide on a deal.

Liverpool has had a strong start to the new campaign, currently holding the second spot in the Premier League standings. By defeating LASK 3-1 in Austria, the Reds climbed to the top of their Europa League group, and after defeating Leicester, they advanced in the Carabao Cup.

While Mauricio Pochettino’s team’s struggles make that opening-day draw with Chelsea look more and more like a missed opportunity every week, most Liverpool fans could not have been expecting anything different from what has happened following a summer of significant changes and a 2022–23 season in which there was plenty to worry about.

If Liverpool can defeat Tottenham this weekend at home, it would be a significant Premier League statement and keep Manchester City from building an early, insurmountable lead. Following that is Brighton, another challenging-looking away game that will really test Jürgen Klopp’s team’s readiness.

Erik ten Hag might agree to a new deal with Manchester United.
In a gesture of support for the Old Trafford manager who joined the club from Ajax at the beginning of last season, Manchester United intends to initiate contract negotiations with Erik ten Hag.

That is according to 90Min, who claims that 18 months after Ten Hag’s appointment, talks about an extension were always planned. Ten Hag’s current contract has an additional year extension option and extends through 2025.

Some things at Old Trafford are still going on as usual, according to Liverpool.com, despite the current problem with the Glazers. Sending Ten Hag a strong message of support after a rocky start to this season would be a significant choice.

Manchester United only has nine points after six games in the new Premier League season after losing to Spurs, Arsenal, Brighton, and Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Liverpool, meanwhile, won’t be overly concerned.

Liverpool now has a great chance after Man City’s elimination.

The Carabao Cup round of 16 match between Liverpool and Bournemouth is scheduled for November 1 (it could technically be October 31, but the Reds play Nottingham Forest on the Sunday before due to the Europa League being the previous week, so Wednesday is really the only day it can take place).

The draw in full is: Manchester United vs Newcastle United, Chelsea vs Blackburn Rovers, Everton vs Burnley, West Ham vs Arsenal, Mansfield Town vs Port Vale, Exeter City vs Middlesbrough, and Ipswich Town vs Fulham.

According to Liverpool.com, Manchester City is already without a doubt not going to win the quadruple this year. Liverpool has a great potential to succeed here as well.

The game against Bournemouth is one that can be won, and in other matches, like as the rematch of last year’s championship between Manchester United and Newcastle, major competitors for the trophy will be eliminated. An other match to watch out for is West Ham vs. Arsenal. If Liverpool makes it through and has a few good draws, they might return to Wembley.
