Liverpool closing in on clinching major behind-the-scenes deal

Liverpool may soon reach an agreement on a significant business deal that may be worth the team more than £70 million annually.

The Reds are reportedly close to signing a lucrative new kit deal with Nike and are eager to continue their relationship with the sportswear behemoth as their present agreement is approaching its end.

Indeed, there is allegedly a shared desire to maintain the partnership, with negotiations reportedly at a “advanced stage” as LFC seeks to reach a deal comparable to the £90 million contract reached between Manchester United and Adidas during the summer.

The 12 kits Nike has created for Liverpool thus far have received mixed reviews from the team’s fans, with some becoming instant classics (like the ecru number from 2022–2022) and a few flops (like that “soundwaves” away jersey from previous season, in which results were largely terrible).

However, if Liverpool Football Club can reach an agreement with the manufacturer on a new contract that would bring in more than £70 million annually, it may be important behind the scenes at Anfield as LFC makes the most of their international brand and additional pulling power as a result of their success under Jurgen Klopp.

Football Insider pointed out that the club already receives a 20% share of all official product sales under their current arrangement, which is a larger percentage than other Premier League teams. As a result, their revenue potential from an enhanced contract would be rather significant.

In what would seem to be a money-making coup for the Reds’ commercial staff, the Liverpool-Nike agreement is looking good to be renewed. If a new deal is done, let’s hope we have some slick and memorable shirts to come from the company.
