Prior to Sunday’s match between West Ham and Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp addressed the media.
Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has issued a warning to the team’s supporters and players, saying that his team is “not stable” and “far from perfect” ahead of their vital Premier League match against West Ham on Sunday. The Reds had a short turnaround before playing David Moyes’ team after coming back from a 1-0 deficit to upset LASK in the Europa League on Thursday.
In his remarks prior to the game, Klopp reiterated that despite a strong start to the season, Liverpool is still far from being through with their rebuild and advised against looking too far ahead.
Klopp stated, “We already knew last year that we needed to make a lot of changes, but we wanted to make them because we wanted to, not because we had to.
“Yeah, I’m still quite enthused about that. I’m done now. We are not quite there yet; we are not yet stable; but, we are already a lot of things. There have been many thrilling moments throughout the games, and I believe that is a wonderful place to stop. But for now, it’s totally acceptable”
In addition, Klopp acknowledged that he was unsure about Liverpool’s current state of growth after overhauling the team’s midfield and replacing players like Jordan Henderson and Fabinho with Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, and Ryan Gravenberch.
After making numerous substitutions for the trip to LASK, Klopp’s team fell behind early for the third time in a row. However, they were once again able to mount a comeback, and an improved second half performance saw them through to a comfortable victory. However, the German manager will be cautious if the team continues to give up the game’s first goal.
If you ask Klopp where he thinks the team is right now, he answers, “I don’t know. Due to the fact that we displayed such a variety of phases, I am unsure of our specific location. However, the experiences we have already had this season — including being sent off twice, being reduced to 10 men, turning games, and other similar events — are definitely enough to last an entire season if they occur after 38 games.
“And today, against Wolves, [we] did it again, played a really bad half and a very good half, and turned it around again.” Once more, it’s not what you expected or desired. However, once you have it, you must deal with it, and that is what we did.
“So, it demonstrates that the boys are already connected in a way and to an extent that we probably didn’t anticipate at such a young age. I’m done now. I am completely unable to predict how it will seem in the upcoming four to five weeks. The only thing I can do is put in a lot of effort to make it as constructive as I can”.
