Liverpool began their Europa League campaign with a victory, despite the challenging circumstances.
On Thursday night in Linz, the Reds fell behind LASK and trailed by a goal at halftime.
LASK sent a corner kick to Florian Flecker at the edge of the Liverpool box in the fourteenth minute.
Before slamming a shot into the bottom-left corner of the Reds goal, the 27-year-old took a touch.
Before the floodgates could flow, Liverpool had to wait until the second half to score.
First, when Luis Diaz was fouled on 56 minutes, Darwin Nunez scored from the penalty spot.
After 63 minutes, Ryan Gravenberch transferred the ball for Diaz to score.
Mohamed Salah secured all three points with just two minutes remaining in the game.
The 32-year-old collected the ball from Nunez in the area, outmuscled Flecker, and sent a shot between the legs of the LASK goalie.
Aaron McLean, a Sky Sports analyst, praised the Liverpool star on Sky Sports News because he appreciated what he saw from Salah.
He remarked, “He could have squared it, but a good striker needs to be selfish occasionally.
“There were two men waiting and if he hadn’t scored Luis Diaz wouldn’t have been happy.
“But that’s (42nd) European goal for Liverpool. Magnificent.”
Salah and Thierry Henry of Arsenal both have the most European goals for an English team.
According to Sky Sports, Salah has contributed to a goal or assist in each of Liverpool’s last 12 games in all competitions.
The Reds’ following match is on Sunday at Anfield in the Premier League against West Ham.
