Ben Doak, who might replace Mohamed Salah, and Liverpool have reached an agreement on a completely new contract.

The 17-year-old signed a new deal in Merseyside on Wednesday, the Reds announced via their website, following his performance in the club’s youth ranks.

Should he continue to advance and get better, some people think he could eventually replace Salah.

During Scotland’s 2025 U21 Euro qualifier encounter against Spain during the break, the teenager made a significant impression, showcasing his electrifying pace and quick feet.

He has played six times for Liverpool’s senior team and scored his first goal for the team with a header in a 4-0 victory over Leicester City.

And as a result, his price has increased by more than seven times what it was when Liverpool acquired him from Celtic in March 2022 for about £600,000.

Doak is now valued at €5 million (£4.3 million), or just over seven times what Jurgen Klopp spent for him, according to the CIES observatory.

Doak’s fondness for the German is widely known since he substituted him for Salah during the Reds’ Premier League debut against Chelsea.

We saw the kids how good they were,” Klopp said of Doak during Liverpool’s preseason campaign. James had never played a six before, but tonight he did, and it was really enjoyable to watch. Bobby did pretty well in the first half.

Oh my God, Ben Doak, it’s so entertaining to see these kids. I’ve only known Calum for nine days, but he was there and had previously been hurt. Koumas came on, and Conor Bradley was excellent.
