Liverpool’s attitude and passion in their first five games of the season have inspired Jürgen Klopp.
The Reds defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1 on Saturday, rallying from a goal down to record their fourth victory of the first Premier League season.
In 2023–24, Klopp’s team has already come back from a deficit to win three points three times, defeating AFC Bournemouth and Newcastle United in the process.
In reference to the weekend performance at Molineux, Klopp said to Liverpoolfc.com post-game: “It is.
“We want to build a number of things over the course of a season, and one of them is attitude, without a doubt; it’s spirit, it’s many things, it’s perseverance. Yes, we did exhibit a few positive traits.
“We demonstrated very effectively that, while we are a really good football team when things are going well, we don’t give up easily when things aren’t going so well.
“However, it’s still early. You can clearly see that this means we are not yet steady. However, we are moving in that direction. We are aware that we have talented footballers, but even talented footballers can play poorly, like we did in the first half. But we also know that they are far superior. Let’s persevere despite it.
“We all know that you always win the very good games, and it’s a good sign when you start winning the less-good games.
“The second half was extremely fantastic, obviously the first half was not lesser-good, it was completely horrible. And having that kind of reaction is very beneficial to know about.”
