Gable Steveson, the renowned Olympic gold medalist and two-time NCAA wrestling champion, recently expressed profound admiration for the Penn State wrestling program’s remarkable achievements. He described their success under head coach Cael Sanderson as “mind-boggling,” likening it to the dominance seen in Alabama football and Duke basketball

Steveson highlighted the extraordinary accomplishments of Penn State’s 184-pound wrestler, Carter Starocci, who is on the verge of becoming the first five-time national champion in wrestling history. He noted that such a feat would “blow the world up,” underscoring the unprecedented nature of Starocci’s potential achievement.

Under Sanderson’s leadership, Penn State has secured 12 national championships in the past 14 years, solidifying their status as a collegiate wrestling powerhouse. The team’s consistent excellence continues to set new standards in the sport.
